Dear Alamosa Park Families, Thank you to all virtual- and classic-enrolled families, teachers, and support staff for your continuous support of Alamosa Park students! In this Family Letter is the following:
Alamosa Park - Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Parent Information Meeting -- Tuesday, March 9, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Attention all families who are interested in their child enrolling in DLI (Grades K, 1, or 2) at Alamosa Park for the 2021 – 22 school year:
Reminder to families regarding students returning to Classic (in-person) learning after being absent from school due to COVID-related symptoms: I would like to share a friendly reminder from our Health Office & School Nurse staff:
Women’s History Month Women’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress passed Pub. L. 97-28 which authorized President Reagan to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” Since 1995, when congress passed additional resolutions, we proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month (From https://womenshistorymonth.gov/about/). During the month of March, I ask that we celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields. At Alamosa Park, during Women’s History Month, as part of curriculum and lessons, many students will be learning more about women leaders in American history. Different grade levels may be exploring how America was influenced by women leaders such as, Eleanor Roosevelt, Maya Angelou, Ellen Ochoa, Sally Ride, Hellen Keller, Dolores Huerta, and Georgia O’Keeffe. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, my hope is that we continue to celebrate and learn more about the contributions of all women from our past and present who have made and continue to make a positive difference across America. Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-22 School Year TK & Kindergarten Registration is now open for students at their elementary school of residency.
