11/29/20
Dear Alamosa Park Families, I hope you and your family enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving and Fall Break! The purpose of this email is to notify parents and families about:
As described in the most recent, 11/24/20, Community Update, you may know that there is a travel advisory in effect in California right now. The Community Update states the following: In response to the rapidly growing number of cases, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued a number of important advisories. The CDC is advising against travel for most people during the Thanksgiving holiday and the CDPH has advised that: Persons arriving in California from other states or Californians returning from other states or countries could increase the risk of COVID-19 spread. In addition, travel itself can be a risk for exposure to COVID-19, particularly travel through shared conveyance such as air, bus or rail travel. Persons arriving in California from other states or countries, including returning California residents, should practice self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival. These persons should limit their interactions to their immediate household. Friendly Reminder (Travel Advisory): If your children traveled outside of California during the Thanksgiving break, I ask that you follow this guidance and keep your children at home from school for 14 days following your return to California. Please note that this guidance does NOT apply to travel within California. If your children did travel outside California during the Thanksgiving break, I request that you please call the Alamosa Park front office at (760) 940-0700 to report your child’s absence. Classic-enrolled students resume in-person learning at Alamosa Park tomorrow, 11/30/20: I would like to remind our community that Alamosa Park and all elementary schools will continue with Classic students on campus tomorrow, Monday, November 30. Alamosa Park Virtual-enrolled students will continue with Virtual learning tomorrow, Monday, November 30 as well. Starting tomorrow, November 30, all VUSD secondary schools (middle and high schools) are pivoting to virtual instruction until after the winter break. Thank you very much for your continuous support. New COVID-19 testing center in Vista – Linda Rhoades Recreation Center - 600 North Santa Fe Avenue – Open Seven Days per week, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. VUSD has successfully launched the opening of a new COVID-19 testing center in Vista at the Linda Rhoades Recreation Center located at 600 North Santa Fe Avenue. The center is open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., free, and no appointment necessary. They have a great team of security staff to ensure your safety while at the center. As Dr. Doyle has communicated in the 11/17/20 Community Update, our community leaders have demonstrated their commitment to robust collaboration to make this happen; it is now our responsibility as members of the community to do our part to collaborate on the use of the testing center. I would like to encourage our community to visit the Vista COVID-19 testing center at Linda Rhoades Recreation Center to receive testing for your family. I appreciate your consideration.
